I qualified from The London Hospital in 1981, since then I have specialised in musculoskeletal injuries with particular interest in necks, backs and shoulders with post graduate qualifications to support it. I have been fortunate to move round the country working for the NHS and privately. I had my own private clinics in the North East for 8 years but on moving to Nottingham in 1999 where I gained an interest in occupational physiotherapy and ergonomics.

I worked with Toyota as a specialist physiotherapist before becoming physiotherapy manager with a large occupational health company with numerous companies, councils and public utilities. During this time I studied for a Post Grad Certificate in workplace Ergonomics at Nottingham University and I am now on the national executive of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Occupational Health and Ergonomics.

I enjoy the opportunity of looking at the workplace to ensure that it allows healthy working. To me the essence of successful physiotherapy is to return the individual to their individual lifestyle and this can be achieved by listening to the patient and not giving a 'preset treatment that fits all'

Out of work I enjoy spending time with family and friends, especially if food is involved. I am an outdoors enthusiast and enjoy walking, coast and moors.  I am a qualified D of E assessor and supervisor. My aim is to start bodyboarding again but not happened yet, watch this space...
